Dr. Sonya Villarreal (DDS)
Dr. Sonya is a native from Mexico. She moved to the United States in 1998 and attended Northern Arizona University where she earned a B.S. in Microbiology. She later received her D.D.S. degree from the University of Colorado Dental School in 2004. Dr. Sonya joined the Kid’s Dental team in 2012 after moving here from practicing in Arizona. She enjoys traveling to other countries, horseback riding, spending time with friends and going back home to Mexico to visit her family.
Amy Schrader D.D.S., FAGD
Dr. Amy Schrader graduated in 2015 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. She is passionate about continuing her dental education and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry as well as an active member of Cerec Doctors and the Spear Education Center. When she is not practicing dentistry Dr. Amy enjoys hiking, fly fishing, and playing golf. She loves getting outside as much as possible with her husband Jon, daughter Daphne, and their two dogs Izzy and Gnarly.
Dr. Tasos Belegratis
Dr. Tasos Belegratis a Denver native received his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) from the University of Colorado of Dentistry.
He completed a two-year general practice residency focusing on surgery including the placement of dental implants and extraction of wisdom teeth as well as general dentistry. He is also certified in intravenous sedation.
Dr. Belegratis believes that good communication is the key to forming successful relationships wit his patients. “I take pride in my rapport with patients and the positive results of my work, “ Dr. Belegratis said. “ I discuss the various treatment options with patients , and make them feel comfortable throughout the entire process.”
Dr. Thu McFarlin
Dr. Thu McFarlin was born in Vietnam and lived there until she was 8 years old. She and her family then moved to Austin, Texas to reunite with some of her father’s family that were separated due to the Vietnam War.
Within 3 years in the U.S., Dr. Thu McFarlin and her family moved 4 times before finally settling down in the northwest part of Houston, Tx in the hope of finding a better future. The challenges of growing up in a 3rd world country, learning English, and constantly having to adapt to new environments turned into strengths. Looking back Dr. Thu is grateful to have all of these experiences because they taught her to treat everyone the same regardless of their background, race, or socioeconomic.
Dr. Thu went to the University of Houston and majored in Biology and minored in Mathematics. Then she attended Baylor College of Dentistry, now known as Texas A&M in Dallas. Shortly after graduation, she decided she wanted to work in an underserved community. She moved to a small border town near Mexico, McAllen Texas. There she stayed at the same practice for over 10 years treating only kids. She loves working with children because it is so rewarding. She looks forward to becoming a part of the community by helping your kids.
